My Dearest Dawn:
To have met a woman like Dawn; is to be truly blessed.
I met her at a point in my life when most women would have considered it to be a valley, for myself, as I look back it was a mountain.

While I was sitting in the Bergen County jail due to the destructions from my addiction. Dawn trusted that sharing her testimony and becoming intimate with a group of women that society had thrown away would make a difference.

My angel! I did not only hear her; I felt her presence. The many different things that she is a survivor of, has assisted me in accepting having Hepatitis C along with many psychic traumas. These things, could no longer be an excuse for me to stay in active addiction.

God is using her as instrument to inspire me to help many of my sisters find the path of recovery. I said it before and I’ll say it again, when I grow up, I pray that I can have at least half of the passion for life that she has shed in her many tears. For this I love her with the power from the heaven above that God has shined on her with the breath that we all Remember to Breathe.

Dearest Oprah Winfrey,
I am an inmate at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. The reason for me writing you is because there is a facilitator who helps the inmates here. Her name is Ms. Dawn Breedon and she is the Inmate Advocate here.

She has written a book about her life, dealing with abusive topics. Through her personal struggle not only did she believe strongly in God but she contracted HIV. Ms. Breedon's attitude is so positive and she helps not only the females here with personal issues, but also the males. She gives direction any time she can. She is a beautiful women full of energy and beautifully maintained.

I am just writing to you Oprah because you also see beauty in people. I acknowledge her for her outstanding will to live on, in such a positive way. She is truly a blessing to me and an inspiration to us all.

Oprah, Ms. Breedon's book is called "Remember to Breathe." It would be such a wonderful experience for her to meet you and discuss her book personally. She also deserves to be recongnized by other women, not just of color but for anyone that thinks they have a dilema holding them back form living!!!!

Sincerely,
Inmate BCJ
